Just so you know you dont need to start up a game to get your map to go, just type in your consol and then map l4d_farm_of_death, simple as that nothing more, if you start a game your just wasting time and loading.
actually this will make you spawn in the wrong place.
until you die and can someone plz tell me y it lags so much D:
Keep in mind that I'm not an expert on mod stuff so its possible that these issues may be due to me :)
I was playing this today and really enjoyed it. It is loads of fun, really enjoyable, great idea and well executed. That said, I did have a couple of critiques:
1. I know there is supposed ot be limited amount of wood, but there is SO much of it that I never felt the need to cut back. After playing for an hour nonstop it seemed as though I still had gods supply of planks. I think this makes it too easy for players even if they are somewhat sloppy. That said, there should be a balance- perhaps the amount can change depending on the difficulty level? I just think that there is too much wood (no jokes please)
2. I think there should be a way for the zombies to climb up to the sniper position. This allows for surprise rear attacks if the survivors are not careful, and it also allows a survivor to have another way back into the house in event they get dragged out or something. It also prevents the siper from being practically untouchable.
3. Might have been a glitch- but there's somethign funny with the pipebombs. Each one can be picked up many times- on the order of 8-10 times before they dissappear. Was that done on purpose?
4. There is no Tank. I could definately see this getting really crazy with the occasional tank.
5. I think the swarms need to appear a little bit more frequently. There is plenty of time to relax and breathe between the swarms.
6. Every time I try to play, I initially load outside the safehouse- if that supposed to happen?
7. I think there are too many healthpacks. Maybe once the difficulty is ramped up a bit I can understand but as of right now there are something on the order of 15 healthpacks and you almost never need them.
8. Some sort of goal? I realize the idea is survival, but I dunno- again, because it seems too plentiful, the survive as long as you can seems to be capable of lasting for hours. I got tired of it after about an hour and a half and started doing crazy stupid stuff. If it was more of endless waves of zombies I could understand more of a "see how long you last because you'll die soon anyway" approach, but as of right now it seems a little bit inappropriate.
9. Respawn points. This may be somethign I'm doing wrong as I have tried a couple of mod maps and none of them seem to have succesful respawn- once a character dies, they simply die. I like the outhouse which I assume is a spawn point. That's pretty sick. A friend of mine and I were playing earlier and thought it might ramp up the challenge if all the healthpacks and the ammo refills were found in the outhouse. It would make things a little trickier, that's for sure.
10. The planks seem to be damagable only via melee, and not from being shot. Was this done on purpose? I understand it makes it easier when you are shooting through them to kill the zombies, but I think it might add to the tension if sloppy aiming would mean destroying the barricade. That said, I at one point threw a molitov at a barracade and after a little while saw the entire thing explode- again, dunno if that was on purpose or not.
11. Is there a way of setting off the horde? I noticed my bots wer always cited as having set off the horde, though I don't know how. I saw what seemed to be a horde attempting to form but were right outside the fence and couldn't detect the house or something. Also once a horde is on its way, it seems to spawn from a long distance away so it takes a good 10-15 seconds until it reaches the house- again, dunno if this was on purpose or not.
All in all, I really loved this map. Lots of fun, neat ideas. I just felt that there were a few things that needed work. Visually I was also very impressed- lovely job.
I have too much time on my hands, so I made a poster for your map. Among other maps.

You know, stuff like the Bus, light bulbs, gun bunker, fridge, did you model all of it? Were there some pre-made things you were able to plop in there? Also, it it easy to measure things and make them accurate to inches, feet, or whatever?
I know that I can make some pretty good measurements in Google Sketchup, but I'm not sure about L4D's editor (I've haven't used it yet.)
Please let me know a little about this. Like the trees…are there premade?
it's very fun but evertime I play, it always lag D: can you plz help me fix this problem?
