Pros
I like the atmosphere, attention to detail, use of music effects, and general feel. It's certainly coming along nicely.
Cons
Alleyways can sometimes feel a little tight at times which restricts movement and hoarde attack potential which renders them useless. There are a few out of bounds areas that are accessible that shouldn't be (the burning area under the burnt out apartment for example).
Overall it's looking and feeling very good and I'm eager to see latter builds.
Only major things are what i hate most about games….ambient attached to sound not music levels, thus gunshots extremely to loud while enjoying your added tracks. For some reason the map runs badly for me and crash's quite fast, i run all other maps with everything maxed 100% fine..so i don't know.
Thanks a ton.
I absolutely loved it, very nice detail. Biggest problem, and one thing that made it fun is that I could go almost anywhere, on top of the roofs and just jump till I made it somewhere. With that, like HandofOdin said, there are some places you shouldn't be able to go or at least there should be a way out (I also ended up stuck in the area under the burnt out apartment).
Funnest map I have played yet though.
well i love this map as it is the RE3 map however i found a few items misplaced and some items were gone but the most of all my friends and i were a little upset of the fact there just were not enough zombies a few hordes not many and there are major fire problems but other then that the map is great good job making it hope to see a better copy when SDK come's out
Hey Hey.
Me and my clan tested out you're map last night and there's a few things we spotted.
Layout of the Map-Too Confusing and mis-leading. For example after you go through the bar it sends you in a big circle. This is an unusal style and none of us were expecting it. So we had to stumble around for more then a few minutes until we found the locked door from before.
Safe House Ending-Replace the door's of the R.C.P.D. into a safe house door. If you ever want to convert the map to versus or don't want people complaining then I would suggest adding a safe house room ending. People can get pulled from the doors and it's not very obvious where you need to go unless you've played Resident Evil 2.
Safe House Beginning-The beginning safe house would probably work better if you put the health packs in the room with the ammunition and the second pistol. Then possibly start players in that room? Or Maybe give it a flickering light or something to draw attention to it?
Doors-All the doors in close range can be shot and thus destroyed. Showing just the wall behind. Make doors un-destroyable? Don't know if possible with SDK being on forever hold.
Cars-Make all the cars movable for tanks. None of the cars in the streets are movable. Make it so maybe one of the cars alarm goes off as well?
Anyways great map overall. I'm going to take it out of my servers rotation until newer versions come out. No hard feelings tough. Wish you the best of luck and hope you're map improves to you're liking! :)
As an RE fan I enjoyed this map, but there are a few issues I have with it. Firstly, there's a fire escape that IS REACHABLE by someone who likes exploring, i.e. me, and I found a rooftop to no where and missing polygons. You'll need to fix it so the fire escape is inaccessible or tie it into your map somehow. Personally I wouldn't mind it being a secret area to explore, but now I'm starting to get off track.
You did an excellent job of recreating the RE3 environment, but I think you should take a little of your own creativity to the project. Make some of the buildings that weren't accessible in the game accessible in your map. I think many fans would enjoy exploring spaces they've never been to before in a universe they love.
Moving on, I like the weapon placement, and once again, I encourage you to take advantage of your skills and create your own environments inside the universe and populate it with content others might relate with.
Finally, I know this is a beta and you're still working on things so I don't wanna discourage you, but you'll need to clean up a few things before this map is really ready for play. I'm sure others like me will discover things that you would prefer us not see. So try to tackle the bugs as they come along.
Good luck and god speed.
5/5 as I'm biased towards RE3 and I wanna see this campaign go places.
I haven't seen any work on this even though the SDK has been out for a month now, what's happening?
