Im a noob when installing these things….you give me all the tools, but i dont know where to enter this stuff in order to play….i have all the information, but how do i actually install it….the readme just says 'here's the stuff you need, go'….i dont know what to do with it in order to play the actual campaign…..PLEASE HELP

i already installed the hunter_training.vpk in (left_4_dead_2/left4dead2/addons) when i was trying to host hunter training map…i typed:hunter_training_map versus, and i get an error while loading..
it says : some file error like baseball.txt,and whole game crashed please help me….(sorry if have poor english)

Are you absolutely certain that you, your friends, and the server you're trying to play on all have version 4.0?

There is an easy way to check - if the map poster is sprayed over Challenge 1, the it is v4.0, otherwise no.

yeah your new version 4.0 has fucked it all up. i cant join any matches or friends now because it says they have the new version i and have the new version. i downloaqaded it installed it and and it is on because i have played on it but whenever i try it online it decides not to work says i dont have it or auto closes my game. help!!

I proper cant wait for this. The last attempt at re-making mirrors edge, or coming close to it was a terrible mess of badly done jump platforms, and impossible to grab ziplines.

I get the exact same issues, "XXXXX" was not installed. It is possible that the add-on is already installed and in use.

I have verified the game caches of both the addon support under the tools menu, as well as Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, to no avail. does anyone have ANY suggestions?

placing the .vpk files directly into the addon folder works SOMETIMES, but I still get the window that says I need to visit the website to download the .vpk file on random maps.

When I first got L4D, I was excited. I loved the game. Still do. Since it's a Valve game, I almost immediately started looking on the net for custom maps and so on. I found out about this project at that point. I believe that the mall map was in development. I thought, "Neat. Someone's remaking some zombie movie into a campaign for L4D. Maybe I'll check it out when it's done." Two days later I got the idea to make the Hunter Training Map, and I haven't thought about DbD since.

Fast-forward to today. Some n00b who happens to be on my friend's list for the simple reason that I always accept invites asked me how to install this. I come here, and I read the comments. It's been nearly a year since the "Public Beta" release. I told the guy not to bother with installing it, because it's not a .vpk file.

I have been searching, not for a BB map, but for a Dead Set map for months, and from googling, just found this… Looks amazing. Is there another source of information where I can track your design process??
