Thanks. Im just curious
You're probably putting the wrong file in.
I suggest reading the install instructions at the top of the page.
ive put it in the addons folder multiple times, and it still will not show up on the game addons

This campaign is a complete waste of space, over 2 years to make a map that both doesnt work in l4d and is visually disgusting up close.
they shouldnt blame "oh its beta" BETA ARE SUPOSED TO BE WORKING
darth brush should go back to playing mario and fighting stinkers
This is just a survival map, so there is no way to get rescued. The goal is just to see how long you can survive.
You can get to the top of the stairs if you're clever, but there is nothing beyond the door there.

What is the walk through for this game? When i turned on the wii i don't know where do i go for the rescue or something like that and also is there anyway to go to the 2nd floor of this map?

Should have called it Left 4 Dead Space but the still a nice campaign
Anyone considered making a map that's set in winter? I'd like to, but I'm not sure there's any textures for it…Still would be fun though… How many different ways are there to do custom textures anyway?

Just renaming a zip to vpk will not work… and why??? If you knew anything about files you would know that zip file has completely different structure from the vpk file.
People should pass some kind of test, like IQ test, before they are allowed to post.

I agree with the poster below.
And also they should change the "Best Upcoming Mod in Mod DB's 2008 awards" to "Worst Mod on the net in 2009".
What a failure.

I don't understand why the stupid fanboys always say give them credit… HELL NO! This crap was in development for over 2 years. Yes, it started as HL2 mod but still it had enough time to be ported, tested and finished for L4D. After that long it should have at least a finale. Without finale it is not even a campaign since a campaign has beginning, middle and end… it's like story. This is just a few maps put together (and it's tagged as "Final"?). And buggy as hell to that.
Some things they did put in are not even L4D, the entire thing is not L4D campaign but anyway… Example, the stupid fifth character that tells you what to do? Are they kidding? This is not innovative, it's stupid. First of all there is a reason why this game is called "Left 4 Dead". Secondly, this is FPS horror/survival which mean you shoot everything in site. Solving puzzles to advance is good but having some character that you never see telling you what to do is plain stupid and out of place. You don't have to even think, you just follow orders… dumb.
I won't even try to list all the bugs/problems that this "campaign" has. Bugs/problems that it shouldn't even have after all the time it was put into it. I've seen custom campaigns done by one person which are state of the art and well worth playing, and replaying. But this one is plain crap.
There is a reason why at least 90% of the comments on the net are negative about Dead Before Dawn. And the reason is that this "campaign" sucks ass. And if you actually read the "good" comments all they say is "it's a good campaign" or "nice" or other one to two words posts. That tells you that those comments are posted by ignorant fanboys that actually have nothing to support it or the developers themselves. The negative posts are posted by everyday players that have something to back their claims about how bad this campaign is. They list bugs, the extremely long time it was in development, entire team of people that worked on it, etc. After considering all that their work falls under the same standards with regular games. You wouldn't accept this from a regular game why then accept it from a team of people that took them over 2 years to work on it and at the end released a buggy piece of crap… without end. You can give a brake to a campaign that was developed by one person but not to something like this.
There was WAY TOO MUCH hype over this piece of crap. Not to mention that it was used by one of the developers to scheme some money from naive people for his new computer. And it was scheme since he actually wrote that if no one donates for his new computer this campaign would not be finished. After playing it you realize that it would be much better if no one donated.
This is my personal opinion, which happens to reflect hundreds if not thousands of others that downloaded it and posted their negative experience. So saying that no one should judge it since we are not developers and we can't make a game would be stupid since the games ARE judged by the GAMERS that just play them and not develop them. And the reason is that the games are targeted at the gamers. So actually only the gamers can judge the games. The gamers, like every other consumer, care about the final product and not the process. Otherwise nothing would be ever finished or done well if everyone would say "give them a credit". In fact all we need is more negative comments so people that released this crap never release anything like this again.

It was a waste. And if you really look you'll see that bad comments outnumber the good one 100 to 1.
sorry… WRONG SECTION XD
The file you downloaded is named "hunter_training_SOURCE". That's the source code for the map, not the map itself.
You click the wrong link.
I have tried to extract the downloaded files into my addons folder, but for the .pdf file it won't extract and instead gives the message
"C:\Users\Laird\AppData\Local\Temp\hunter_training_source.zip: Unknown method in Hunter Training Mapping How to.pdf"
note that is not the location I am trying to extract to, it is the location of temporary data on my pc, aswell I have not recieved a .VPK file when I had downloaded the map.
Any help would be appreciated, ty.

If you've ever mapped before you'd probably at least have more appreciation for the lofty goals they attempted. Some of it was just really cool and made me really wonder how they did stuff. From a fun perspective some of it was legitimately frustrating. The sound, as cool as it was, was a fail when it was critical to the mission and yet the horde drowned it out. Hype is a dangerous thing. You want interest, but when the expectation is God-like, that's tough. I enjoyed it, but sure it could've been better, and maybe someday will.

That's not a bug. It's a feature ;)
Pack it as .zip and rename to .vpk and you're done. Any other change will detect the modified file as "resource cheat" (for example transparant walls)

A waste of time, bandwidth and disc space.
I've been reading comments on a few different sites and they vary from good, so-so and bad.
Mine? Bad. After spending an hour dow2nloading and then installing (by hand obviously), the game never even got started for me.
I have a glitch on my L4D which is that IF the map/campaign isn't in a .vpk format, then i can't play it. No matter what i try, it never gets far. The game crashes and i get a pop-up telling me i've been disconnected form the server because Steam can't authenticate user.
That's bullsh!t because i have a legal copy of L4D and am fairly skilled at installing custom content.
So, this whole thing was a huge fail for me. After reading some of the con comments, i deleted this sh!t off my computer. Nothing is that important to keep a campaign that's over a gig in size.
So, some of you may rejoice in this but for as long as this was in development, the numerous bugs i've read about makes me shake my head in wonder.
